A week full of horror experiences!
Horrorfest Helsinki is a new horror theme festival that is being arranged all around Helsinki between Oct 13th until Oct 21st 2023.
The week starts from Tiivistämö in Suvilahti with Friday 13th Horror Mansion event (age limit 18 years), where you can experience a big horror escape room, stage performances & shows and set decorations for all friends of horror. After all these starts a horror club where you can listen to horror music that escalates into horror dance music in the end of the evening. Horror bar is open the whole club night where you can buy theme fitting drinks.
On Saturday 14th is the child-friendly family event Hurjakuja, where the smallest ones in the family are welcome in a happy Halloween theme's spirit!
Saturday and Sunday are days when it's possible to book tickets to Odd & Strange Tours (Kummalliset Kiertueet) Horrific Helsinki horror tour (included in the festival wristband). The tour goes through physical horror spots in Helsinki like horror statues, - stores and cemeteries. The tour has been part of Helsinki Walking Festival's program in 2018.
The program continues on Monday with Horror board game day in Kallio library's atmospheric detective cabinet. There are three seperate age categories in the game night: children, teenagers and adults. The event is free of charge.
On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in Tiivistämö, a Horror Cafe is open from 1 PM to 8 PM. The cafe is free to enter and it's set decorations are also present in other Tiivistämö's events that week. Horror Cafe has a small stage where there will be variating program at the opening times of the cafe.
On tuesday there will be a Beetlejuice theme day in the cafe that culminates to the film Beetlejuice (1988, director Tim Burton) in the Tiivistämö main hall when the cafe closes at 8 PM. The theme day will be hosted by Lady Beetlejuice, you can buy Beetlejuice themed coffeehouse products and the place has a Beetlejuice themed set decoration. Before the movie begins, a kiosk will open in Tiivistämö lobby where you can buy movie snacks. Beetlejuice theme day and movie are free of charge.
On thursday night we are arranging a horror club with a goth theme in Baarikärpänen in the center of Helsinki. During the night we hear three DJ sets and there will be horror/goth themed karaoke part where the songs are limited to this genre of songs. You can also buy horror themed drinks from the bar desk!
On Friday and Saturday Oct 20th to 21st Horrorfest Helsinki ends on Tapanilan Työväentalo. On Friday there is a Halloween dinner with a witch theme (places are booked separately and there is a limited amount of places available so fast eat the slow!) The dinner is rerun of last year's event by Odd & Strange Tours (Kummalliset Kiertueet) in Forum Box art gallery.
On Saturday day we are arranging Horror sale event that combine artist, fleamarket and entepreneur sale.
Saturday night's closing celebration we will celebrate Halloween in a traditional rural style inspired by the movie Sleepy Hollow. In the rural mansion celebration you can dance to classical and traditional music, play party games and watch stage program (horror opera and poetry among other things)
All paid events can be accessed with Horrorfest wristband, price 45 euros in advance and 50 euros bought from the door. Batch of wirstbands are in sale in 40 euros Early Bird price at Harrastusseura Revontuli's table in Tracon and Ponicon events. You can also purchase separate tickets to all paid Horrorfest events.

Horrorfest Helsinki is non-profit event by common-good association Harrastusseura Revontuli ry. Collaborators of the event are Kummalliset Kiertueet and Kaaoksen Korppi.
